Consulting with ai in the middle.

sanaic is Scott Andrew Nolan + AI + Consulting - the AI sits in the middle of the name because that's where it belongs in a business: inside the daily work, not the strategy deck. I'm Scott. I streamline how companies run, then build practical AI into the way the work actually gets done.

Four things, done hands-on.

Operations, made simpler

Efficient management advisory. I map how the work actually gets done, cut the steps that add nothing, and leave a business that runs with less effort and clearer numbers.

AI-assisted workflows and automation

Working systems, not pilots. Automation and AI-assisted workflows built into the tools a team already uses - quoting, reporting, admin, the repetitive middle of every week.

E-commerce and marketing operations

The engine room of selling online: storefronts, product data, campaigns, email and the reporting that shows what is actually working - kept running, week in, week out.

AI adoption that sticks

Side-by-side working sessions that get a team genuinely using AI in their own jobs, with sensible guardrails. Adoption measured by changed habits, not attendance.

If your best people left tomorrow.

It's the quiet problem in most small businesses, and it's true of every company I work with. Someone knows how the quoting really works, how the reports get run, how the website gets updated, how the email campaigns are built and sent. None of it is written down. It lives in their heads, and it leaves when they do.

It moves out of your people's heads and into your AI's

An AI-assisted workflow only runs if the process is spelled out: the steps, the rules, the exceptions and the reasons behind them. Building the system is the act of writing it all down. Rather than living in your people's brains, that knowledge now lives in your AI's brain - written down in full, in plain English, and owned by you.

Your AI ends up knowing your whole business

Every workflow we build adds to it. Over time your AI holds a complete working picture of how the business actually runs: every process, every rule, every exception and why it's there. Ask it how something is done and it can tell you. Ask it to do the thing and it can.

The system holds the expertise; the person operates it

Once a process is captured properly, running it no longer takes the person who invented it. It takes someone who can follow it and apply judgement. That's a much shorter list of requirements, and a far quicker handover.

Redundancy comes free with the build

There's no separate documentation project and no knowledge-transfer programme to fund. Operational redundancy is a by-product of working this way: every workflow we build is one more thing that doesn't depend on one particular person turning up.

That applies to me as well. I don't build a dependency on Sanaic. The work lives in your systems and in your AI, documented in plain English and owned by you - designed so your team can run it, change it and extend it long after I've gone.

Hands on, small first, plain spoken.

Hands on

I build the workflow with you, in your tools, at your desk or on a call. You don't get a report about a system; you get the system.

Small first

We start with one process that matters, prove it works, then widen the scope. No six-month roadmap before anything ships.

Plain spoken

Short written updates, honest numbers, and plain English. If something isn't worth automating, I'll say so and we'll skip it.

One consultant. A career of running things.

I'm Scott Nolan, based in Sydney. I've spent nearly three decades building and running technology inside large enterprises: identity and security platforms at Commonwealth Bank, where I led the re-insourcing of the bank's directory services after 23 years outsourced and built the global team of sixteen that took them over; six years as the enterprise directory services and security architect at the University of New South Wales, one of the largest identity environments of any university in the world; global infrastructure at Lend Lease; Australia's national electricity market operator; and most recently three and a half years at Mandiant, part of Google Cloud, leading the Security Transformation Services consulting practice across Asia-Pacific - helping large organisations rebuild after serious breaches, and briefing their boards while we did it.

Alongside all of that I've been an operator in small business: building and running e-commerce stores, marketing and day-to-day trading operations, including my own digital agency. So I know what enterprise-grade looks like, and I know what a lean business can actually absorb - and the gap between those two is exactly where Sanaic works.

I run my own companies on the same AI-assisted workflows I build for clients, so everything I recommend is something I use daily. When you engage Sanaic you get me - not a bench, not a junior team, not a handover.

If you email, I answer.

Tell me what's slowing your business down. A short call will establish whether I can help, and I'll tell you plainly if I can't.

Good to know up front - I'll cover confidentiality and where your data lives on our first call. Client data stays in client systems; that's how I work.
